Marcus Ellsworth is the co-founder and Executive Director of Actor’s Youth Theatre (AYT). He has had the privilege of directing, choreographing and designing such plays as Disney’s Aida (receiving ariZoni Awards for Choreography and Overall Production), Thoroughly Modern Millie, All Shook Up, The Three Musketeers, Once on this Island, Les Miserables: School Edition (receiving ariZoni Awards for Directing, Scenic Design, Properties Design and Overall Production) and the Arizona premiere of The Addams Family (receiving ariZoni Awards for Directing, Properties Design and Overall Production).
Marcus is a graduate of Arizona State University and just received his Master’s Degree in the Theatre for Youth program. He worked for FAME events for ten years as a production director, where he helped produce national competitions in venues such as the Lincln Center in New York, Hard Rock Live in Orlando, and McCormick Place in Chicago. Marcus and his wife Kim live in Laveen AZ where he teaches at Heritage Academy, and they are raising their four awesome kids.
